Baroque Architecture

St.John's Сo-Сathedral in Valetta, Malta is a jewel of Baroque art and architecture. It was built by the Knights of Malta between 1573 and 1578 and consecrated in honor of their patron saint, John the Baptist.

You can see three dials on the facade of the cathedral, which show the time, month, and day. Though the facade is not as luxurious as the interior, the building's clear lines are ideal for creating an image in the linocut style.

• Step 1. Open the chosen image in AKVIS ArtWork:

• Step 2. Choose the Linocut style from the drop down menu in the Settings Panel. Start processing by pressing . If you processed the photo using the default settings (AKVIS Default preset), you will see the following image:

• Step 3. The picture looks too gloomy, so choose the White Relief preset, and change the paint color to purple.

• Step 4. After pressing you will receive this result:

• Step 5. Click on the Text tab and choose an inscription. I chose a quote from Henry Austin Dobson about time, which perfectly represents the three dials and the centuries-old walls of the cathedral: "Time goes, you say? Ah, no! alas, time stays, we go".
