Sometimes a beautiful oil painting can be spoiled by an unsuitable background. This tutorial shows how to create an oil portrait in a classic style on a homogeneous background using AKVIS OilPaint.

• Step 1. Open a photo in the OilPaint program.

• Step 2. Adjust the oil effect parameters, choose a canvas surface, and run image processing.

• Step 3. In the After tab, select the Oil Brush and paint the background around the boy.
  
  Using Oil Brush
• Step 4. You can apply the Smudge tool and other post-processing tools to make the brush strokes smoother, remove irregularities, and increase the painting effect.
