Lighten a Dark Street Photo

When you take a photo in the street where the lighting is poor, you will notice that the subject of the shoot turns out to be dark and hardly visible. With the Improve Detail mode in AKVIS Enhancer you can reveal details in shadows.

We use the Enhancer plugin in the tutorial, but you can take the standalone edition and use the same parameters to achieve this result.

• Step 1. Open the image in your photo editor to work with the Enhancer plugin, for example in AliveColors (or just run the Enhancer program if you use it as a standalone app).
  
• Step 2. To call the Enhancer plugin in AliveColors select the command Effects -> AKVIS -> Enhancer; in Adobe Photoshop select the command Filter -> AKVIS -> Enhancer; in Corel PaintShop Pro select Effects -> Plugins -> AKVIS -> Enhancer.

  Choose Improve Detail mode. The image will be processed with the default settings.

  
• Step 3. Taking into account that the photo is underexposed, we need to reveal more details in the dark areas. Increase the Lightness parameter and adjust other settings to achieve the desired look.
  
• Step 4. In the plugin, press the button to apply the result of the photo correction.
