In Version 10.0:
- New Artistic Processing
The update implements a completely new photo-to-painting algorithm. The new processing method even more closely simulates real oil painting techniques. The generated brush strokes are soft and natural and look like made by an artist's hand. The oil strokes are distributed natively and creatively, giving the image an art-like appearance. Also, the new processing algorithm is faster than ever. Follow your imagination and render your photos into digital paintings!
- Redesigned Interface
The OilPaint interface has been redesigned to provide a modern experience. All UI elements have been modified, as well as the program icon. Now the software offers three workspace modes: Express, Advanced, and Presets. The new version makes it easier and more fun to create pieces of art.
- Presets Gallery with Live Preview
The new Presets interface mode displays the ready-to-use presets in the most convenient and effective way. You can see the oil painting presets as thumbnails with the real-time preview, with the ability to quickly switch to the effect settings. It's now easier to manage the presets in the program and choose the best effect for your image. You can also add your most liked presets to Favorites. Try different oil painting techniques!
You can find your old presets by switching to the old algorithm in the OilPaint preferences.
- Also, in version 10.0:
- Increased the maximum value of the preview area to 1,000 px (in Preferences).
- Added file saving options for the Batch Processing.
- Added the Reset button to the Decoration - Text/Canvas tabs.
- Extended the list of supported RAW formats.
- Verified compatibility with the latest versions of the image editors.

- Fixed bugs and improved program stability.
In Version 10.1:
- Added native support for the Apple M1 series of processors.
- Discontinued support for Mac OS X 10.10-10.11. The previous versions are available for users of old Macs.
- Implemented minor interface improvements.
- Fixed minor bugs and increased stability.
In Version 10.2:
- Added the Timeline that creates stepwise shots of photo-to-painting conversion;
- Extended the list of supported RAW formats;
- Compatibility with macOS 14 Sonoma;
- Fixed bugs and increased stability.
