Butterfly on the wall
The example was made in the old version of the Chameleon plug-in. Now the technique of using AKVIS Chameleon is different, but the
result will be the same.
Consult the article "Blend mode" to get the same result with the new version. In the older versions (before v.5.0) this mode was
called Snapshot and applied automatically right after you launch the
plugin from the menu Filter.
We know that chameleons have the faculty of changing their color and the body pattern in order to adapt to the environment and escape their numerous enemies.
AKVIS Chameleon can help any creature to try this amazing feature of chameleons.
- Step 1. We take a picture of a butterfly and a stone wall texture and try to help the butterfly to hide - to blend with the stone wall.
- Step 2. Switch to the Quick Mask mode and paint the butterfly with a hard-edged pencil or brush.
- Step 3. Switch back to the Standard mode and invert the selection by calling the command Select - Inverse.
- Step 4. Copy the selected butterfly.
- Step 5. Switch back to the stone wall texture and take a snapshot of the image by calling the command Filter-AKVIS - Chameleon (Take Snapshot).
- Step 6. Insert the copied image of the butterfly into the stone wall picture.
- Step 7. Change the size of the butterfly using the command Edit - Free Transform.
- Step 8. Then apply the plugin AKVIS Chameleon, by selecting the command Filter - AKVIS - Chameleon (Use Snapshot).
After the AKVIS Chameleon plugin application the butterfly, like a chameleon, changed its green color to brown and blended with the stone wall. Besides, it adapted the stone wall texture.
