Upgrade AKVIS programs to new versions
If upgrade is free
We usually offer the registered users to upgrade AKVIS software for free.
After a new version is released, if upgrade to this version is Free, to upgrade the software please:
Your license key will be valid for the new version.
Please note that your key is valid only for the product and the lycense type that you have bought. For example, having a Home license to the plug-in version, you will not be able to update the stand-alone version for free, only the plugin version.
Usually you do not need to re-activate a license after installation of a new version. But in some cases such necessity may occur (see below).
If upgrade is not free
If we decide to make a paid upgrade to a new version we notify you by email.
After a new version is released, if upgrade to this version is not free, you can:
In the first case, when your payment for upgrade is effected, you will receive a notification with instruction. Then you should re-activate your license (see below).
If you decide to stay with your old version, you can always download the file at the page of Old versions and activate with your license key.
Upgrade licenses: how to change the type of license
AKVIS offers several types of licenses. Each type answers its purposes. For example, you can not use the Home license in commercial purposes! In this case you should buy the Business license.
If you bought the Home license by mistake, you can upgrade it to Business.
Please choose an appropriate product ("upgrade") at our store. For more detail you can contact us at sales@akvis.com.
When your payment is effected, and you've received a notification from us that your license was upgraded, you can re-activate your license - just register the program with the same key. Now it has got a new status (type of license).
How to re-activate your license
To re-activate your license just press the button "ReActivate License" or, if you do not see it, please follow the instruction below:
- Open the folder where the old license file is.
Windows:
It will be the folder AKVIS in users' Shared Documents. For old versions it can be the program folder in Program Files.
Macintosh: Please find your license file in your home directory (your home folder with your name).
- You will find a "lic" file (for example, "Coloriage.lic") in this folder. It is a license file that contains the information about your serial number.
Remove it.
- Then launch the software again and start the registration process with the same serial key.
Possible problems and solutions:
If you get the error message "Invalid license key", you should re-activate your serial number (see above).
