New Painting Style in AKVIS Watercolor 7.0: Give Your Photos Authentically Watercolor Look!

August 29, 2022 — AKVIS announces a major update of AKVIS Watercolor. Version 7.0 provides the brand new Contour Watercolor style of photo to art conversion, that simulates the dry brush method and a mix of watercolor paints and pencils.

AKVIS Watercolor is widely used, powerful software for creating digital artworks with the watercolor painting technique. It easily turns photos into watercolor paintings. The program is equally good for images of various styles and genres: portraits, landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, still lifes, abstract illustrations, etc. It allows users to re-create the greatest painting styles in the world of aquarelle art.

Version 7.0 presents a new style of photo to painting conversion. Now the software offers a choice of two options for creating a watercolor painting. The previous effect is now available under the name Classic Watercolor. The new one is Contour Watercolor.

The just added Contour Watercolor style imitates a mixed method of painting, very close to the "dry-on-wet" watercolor technique. It adds thin lines to the painting to emphasize the edge of objects and allows you to simulate a combination of watercolor paint and pencils. The colors in such drawings are more vibrant and less blurred and the result may look like gouache or poster art. The new style comes with a wide range of ready-to-use watercolor presets.

AKVIS offers to download the software from and evaluate all features during the 10-day trial period.

AKVIS Watercolor can be used as a standalone application and as a plugin in AliveColors by AKVIS, Adobe Photoshop, Corel PaintShop Pro, Affinity Photo, and other compatible graphics editors. The software runs on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11; macOS 10.12-12.0.

The product comes in Home, Home Deluxe, and Business versions (lifetime licenses), with differing levels of functionality, for a price starting from $ 49.00. The update is free for users who bought the software in the last 12 months. Users, whose licenses are older and are not valid for the new version, can get AKVIS Watercolor 7.0 for only $14.95.
