Tutorial: AKVIS MultiBrush
Family photo
The example was made in the old version of AKVIS Stamp.
Starting from version 4.0 the program is called AKVIS MultiBrush.
The tool used in this tutorial is now called the Chameleon Brush tool.
The author of this example is Liliya Maganuk, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The photo is from my family archive and it is considerably damaged. Let's restore this image with the help of AKVIS Stamp and AKVIS Retoucher.
- Step 1. Open the photo in Adobe Photoshop. You may use any photo editor compatible with AKVIS plugins.
- Step 2. Call AKVIS Stamp from the menu of the photo editor Filter->AKVIS->Stamp. AKVIS Stamp will help us to remove dust, scratches, stains, and other defects that appear on damaged photos, using the information of the surrounding areas.
- Step 3. Let's begin our work. Set the source area. For this purpose, keeping the Alt (Option for Mac) pressed, left-click on the area you want to clone. Adjust the size of the Stamp and deactivate the check box Aligned.
- Step 4. Apply strokes with the Stamp tool to removie the scratch on the boy's face.
- Step 5. Remove the remaining scratches in the same way. Put the cursor onto the damaged area or to the part of the image where you want to clone the selected object.
Here is the result:
- Step 6. Press the button to apply the result.
Nevertheless there is still much work for AKVIS Retoucher.
- Step 7. Switch to the Quick Mask mode. Press the button
and paint over the defects with a Pencil.
Switch to the Standard Mode, press the button .
- Step 8. Now we have to inverse the selection: Select->Inverse.
- Step 9. Call the plugin from the menu of the photo editor Filter->AKVIS->Retoucher. The selected areas are highlighted in red.
- Step 10. We can change the parameters of AKVIS Retoucher. Press the button on the toolbox and change the parameters if you want. Then press the button OK.
- Step 11. Press the button to start the retouching process. It can take time but the result is worthy of it.
- Step 12. Here is the final picture.
The plugin performed perfectly!
