Restoration of a Photo of a Baby

AKVIS Retoucher helps you to restore photos from your family archives. With time old photographs become jagged, they get scratches, dust and stains. But it is possible to turn back the clock.

Below you will find instructions how to win the fight against the aging of your photos using AKVIS Retoucher Plugin.

  • Step 1. Open the old photo in a photo editor, for example, in Adobe Photoshop.

  • Step 2. Select all the defects (scratches, stains, unwanted details and objects) with any selection tool. Learn more about selection tools of Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Corel (Jasc) Paint Shop Pro, Corel Photo-Paint.

The easiest way to select small scratches in Adobe Photoshop is to use the Quick Mask mode (or the Selection Brush tool in Photoshop Elements). Switch to the Quick Mask mode and paint over the defects with a pencil or a hard edge brush.

    Using the Quick Mask mode

When all the scratches and stains are painted over, switch to the Standard mode and inverse the selection ( Inverse — Shift+Ctrl+i). The defects will be selected.
