Restoration of a Photo of a Baby
AKVIS Retoucher helps you to restore photos from your family archives. With time old photographs become jagged, they get scratches, dust and stains. But it is possible to turn back the clock.
Below you will find instructions how to win the fight against the aging of your photos using
AKVIS Retoucher Plugin.
- Step 1. Open the old photo in a photo editor, for example, in Adobe Photoshop.
- Step 2.
Select all the defects (scratches, stains, unwanted details and objects) with any
selection tool. Learn more about selection tools of Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Jasc Paint Shop Pro, Corel Photo-Paint.
The easiest way to select small scratches in Adobe Photoshop is to use the
Quick Mask mode. Switch to the Quick Mask mode and paint over the defects with a pencil or a hard edge brush.
When all the scratches and stains are painted over, switch to the Standard mode and inverse the selection
( Inverse — shift+ctrl+i). The defects will be selected.
- Step 3. Open the AKVIS Retoucher window.
If you use Adobe Photoshop you should select Filter - AKVIS - Retoucher in the menu;
in Jasc Paint Shop Pro you should select Effects - Plugins- AKVIS - Retoucher;
in Corel PHOTO-PAINT use Effects - AKVIS - Retoucher
- Step 4. The selected areas are highlighted in red.
Press the button
in the program window to start the restoration process.
- Step 5.
When the restoration process is over, apply the result by pressing the button
in the program window.
The old damaged photo is brought back to life.
