Portrait of a child
You can use AKVIS Retoucher to restore color photos. Here is a photo of a child. To restore this picture we should remove the scratch that crosses almost the entire image, small defects on the background, blue stains on the toy and the fold track in the right lower corner.
- Step 1. First of all we select the defects. You can use any selection tool of your photo editor. Learn more about selection tools of Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Jasc Paint Shop Pro, Corel Photo-Paint.
The easiest way to select scratches in Adobe Photoshop is to paint them over in the Quick Mask mode. You should choose a pencil or a brush with a hard end.
In the Quick Mask mode you selection will be highlighted in semi-transparent red.
- Step 2.
Switch back to the Standard mode and inverse the selection.
- Step 3. Now it is time to launch AKVIS Retoucher and start the retouching process. It is somewhat curious to see how the red selection disappears without a trace and the photo surface becomes smooth.
When the retouching process is over you will see the following photo. Now our attention is not diverted by scratches and imperfections.
