Using AKVIS Sketch, we will take a photo of a house and convert it into a beautiful painting.

Step 1. Select your source photo.

Step 2. If necessary, edit the source image. This is the time to remove any unwanted objects, etc.

Step 3. Open the edited source photo with AKVIS Sketch, and choose the filter mode from Classic or Artistic.
In this example the author used Classic Style with AKVIS Color Pencil High preset.
You will notice that the AKVIS Sketch software takes mere seconds to do a beautiful sketch in pen or pencil!

Step 4. At this point, you have several options. You can process the image with another AKVIS effect and combine two images in layers using AliveColors, Gimp, Photoshop or similar software. Many interesting effects can be obtained in this way, but that is the subject of another tutorial.
You may also want to embellish/edit your sketch. In this example author has added leaves to the trees.

Step 5. Final touch up.
There are two ways you can do this: digitally with paint software, or by hand on a printed copy of your AKVIS sketch. You can choose to use either one, or a combination of the two.
Digitally on the computer:
Use some of the built in AKVIS color effects.
With the paint software of your choice (such as AliveColors, Photoshop, GIMP, MyPaint, etc.).
Manually on a printed copy of your sketch:
Print the AKVIS file on card weight stock. Do not use an inkjet printer for this purpose as the ink will smear if you add water colors. Instead, have your work printed on a wide format printer using Archival Inks. If you only have an inkjet printer, then photocopy your print on card stock).
Use colored pencils or water colors to add colour to the print.
Congratulations! You have just created a beautiful work of art! Don't forget to sign it; after all, you're the artist!
