Star modifier allows transformation of an element into a star: some points at the edges of the element are attracted to the light effect center, forming pointed rays. The number of 'attraction' points depends on the Rays parameter value.

The modifier has several properties:

  • Rays - the number of star rays;
    Rays = 4 Rays = 9
    Rays = 4 Rays = 9
  • Fineness – this property sets the degree of pointedness for the rays: the higher the property value, the sharper and thinner are the rays;
    Fineness = 150 Fineness = 500
    Fineness = 150 Fineness = 500

If element center coincides with the light effect center, all the rays are equal and are evenly distributed around the center. If element center does not coincide with the light effect center, you get a very interesting result: the light effect edges get attracted to the center of the light effect and not to the element center.

Note! Not all elements can be transformed into a star in their initial form. Or, to be more exact, you can apply the modifier but won't get star rays as a result.

For example, application of this modifier to the Rays, Particles, SpikeBall, PolySpikeBall and PhotonSpikeBall elements will only result in some rays being shorter than the other.

But if you apply Whirlpool modifier before applying Star, the result is very interesting: first rays will twist into a whirlpool and then the twisted rays will be transformed into a star.
