February 15, 2012 — AKVIS announces the release of AKVIS Enhancer v.13.0 for Windows and Macintosh. The program can improve every part of an image and detect detail in dark and light areas. In this version, support for GPU has been added that significantly speeds up image processing. Also the new version adds new presets to all three modes, offers support for DNG files, and other significant improvements!
AKVIS Enhancer is image enhancement software that can improve every part of an image and detect detail in underexposed, overexposed and mid tone areas of a photo with uneven exposure.
The software provides three image processing modes: Improve Detail, Prepress, and Tone Correction. Though the main goal of these modes, correction, is the same, each approaches the task differently:
In Improve Detail mode, the program brings out details by intensifying color transition. It strengthens the difference between adjacent pixels having different color gradations and therefore reveals not only details in shadows but even details in the overexposed and mid tone areas. This mode offers a fast method to fix a dark photo.
In Prepress mode, the program helps adjust photos before printing or web publishing. Use this mode to increase the sharpness of borders and the image's contrast. Even a high quality photograph needs prepress processing to give it a professional look.
In Tone Correction mode, the program improves images through tone correction, by correcting the brightness of points in the light and dark areas. As a result the overall impression of the image improves considerably. Changes can be made to the entire image or only to a part of it depending on the colors you select.
Version 13.0 offers support for GPU acceleration that significantly speeds up image processing.
This version also offers new ready-to-use Presets. The new Preset Preview window lets you observe the result in real time. Now, when moving a cursor over a preset in the drop-down list, the quick result appears in the quick preview window over the image window. It saves you time and makes the selection of the presets easier.
The software demonstrates more flexibility! It is now possible to adjust Image View Modes (various options for displaying the original and processed images, "Before" and "After" states). You can see and compare the original and processed versions of an image fragment on one screen.
For a free trial, AKVIS offers 10 days of fully functional use.
Registered users of Versions 10-12 can upgrade to Version 13 for free.
For owners of older versions: upgrade to v.13 is available for $29 USD for any type of license.
Users who tried the previous version of the software and whose version has expired now have an opportunity to test the software again.
AKVIS Enhancer runs on Windows 7/Vista/XP, 32/64 bit, and on Mac OS X 10.4-10.7, 32/64 bit.
AKVIS Enhancer Home License (plug-in or standalone) sells for $69 USD, downloadable from akvis.com. For Deluxe and Business licenses, consult the official web-site.
