Improve Your Blurred Photos With AKVIS Refocus v.1.5!

Jan 18, 2012 — AKVIS announces the release of AKVIS Refocus v.1.5 for Windows and Macintosh. The software improves sharpness of out of focus images. AKVIS Refocus is available for Windows and Mac as a Photoshop plugin and a standalone edition. Version 1.5 offers support for RAW and DNG files, the list of Recent Files, improved compatibility with Mac OS X Lion, and other improvements.

Digital cameras are a good companion for capturing everyday moments - they are handy and offer automatic settings that save you time. However, sometimes the camera fails to focus on the subject automatically and it comes out unsharp. AKVIS Refocus will take care of such images.

AKVIS Refocus improves sharpness of out of focus images. The program can process the entire photo or bring into focus only the selected part to make the subject stand out against the background.

Even if a photo looks sharp enough, there is always room for improvement. To create a special effect and draw attention to certain details, you can use selective focus.

In digital photography the selective focus technique is used to shoot portraits, macro and close-up photographs. For this purpose, one switches to aperture mode and adjusts the settings till the subject is in focus.

In AKVIS Refocus you can use two pencils to separate the subject from the background and adjust the settings to get the selective focus effect. There are also AKVIS presets which provide different degrees of sharpness.

To achieve a more realistic selective focus effect, you can sharp one part of the photo and blur the rest. The Defocus feature that allows blurring the background is available only for Home Deluxe and Business licenses.

When improving the clarity of images with AKVIS Refocus, you may also improve the texture of materials that can lead to some interesting effects.

AKVIS Refocus is also helpful with landscape photos. When shooting an object or a landscape at a distance, you may notice that the picture looks hazy. AKVIS Refocus will make the photo more distinct and thus more impressive.

In Version 1.5:

Registered users of Refocus can upgrade to the new version for free.

AKVIS Refocus is available for both Mac and Windows platforms, and comes packaged as a Photoshop plugin or as a standalone application.

A fully featured 10-day trial of AKVIS Refocus is available for free from the company Web site.

AKVIS Refocus sells for $ 39 USD at akvis.com. Home users can enjoy the full line of AKVIS programs in the AKVIS Alchemy bundle with a great discount.
